DJing at Which Way Is Up!

I’m thrilled to have been asked to DJ at the first ever Which Way Is Up! on Friday. Our favourite band from Leeds, This Many Boyfriends are headlining with stellar support from The Give It Ups and Lisa Bouvier. Be sure to snap up your ticket now!

This new band night at the Wilmington Arms will take place every third Friday of the month and is hosted by our friends at Odd Box Records. Expect noisepop, indiepop, lo-fi, garage/punk stuff and maybe even a touch of shoegaze.

Tickets on sale for Read and Shout

I’m currently packing my bags after a fantastic guest DJing spot at the wonderful Unpop in Edinburgh this weekend. So my thoughts are turning to future gigs.

I’m delighted to have been asked to DJ at Read and Shout next month. Read and Shout is a special event, a live music event, a mini-festival, an evening of sublime indiepop held in the lovely Nettlefold Hall above West Norwood Library, but most of all Read and Shout is a protest against the widespread closure of libraries in London, and accross the Nation.

A stunning line-up has been announced for Saturday 19th March with Jens Lekman headlining. Also on the bill are Pocketbooks, A Fine Day For Sailing, A Little Orchestra, Darren Hayman, Leaf Library, Horowitz, The Sweet Nothings, The Give It Ups and The Sunbathers. I’ll be DJing alongside our friends at Big Pink Cake and Librarians Wanted.

Tickets go on sale today at 3pm on their website.

DJing at Unpop on Friday

I’ll be guest DJing at Edinburgh’s premier indiepop night, Unpop on Friday night. It’s happening at The Wee Red Bar and its only £4 to get in. They’ll be mixtapes, badges, cake and more for the first 50 people through the door!

There are more details on Facebook where you can post your requests. See you there!

At our next club night we’re teaming up with our friends at London Popfest on Saturday 26th February!

We’ll be hosting Scared To Dance at the legendary 100 Club after the bands have finished playing our mix of indiepop, post-punk, and new wave music.

We’re offering a special Popfest price of just £3 to get in from 11pm after the bands and we’ll be going on until kicking out time at 2am. Playing the allayer are The Monochrome Set, Humousexual, The History of Apple Pie, Help Stamp Out Loneliness, The Felt Tips, Eux Autres, Evans the Death and Bearsuit.

Tickets have sold out for Saturday but a limited amount are available for Thursday and Sunday. We’ll have our ever popular Winter fanzine on sale too including interviews with The Vaselines, Edwyn Collins, Ballboy and much more.
