Robin spoke to Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6 Music show yesterday giving a nice plug for his DJ set at the club. You can listen to it at 1 hour 37 minutes on the iPlayer.
Check out our new podcast which you can listen to for absolutely nothing over on Mixcloud. It features many of the finest tracks around at the moment plus some Scared To Dance dancefloor hits we’ll be playing on Saturday.
We’ve been following Robin’s career for a long time and after seeing him at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival earlier this year it seemed the perfect time to get him to spin some records at the club.
Robin is a big John Peel fan so you can expect plenty of Peel rarities on the night.
There’s a Facebook event where you can post your requests. Doors open from 9pm to 2am and entry is £3 for members and £5 for non-members.
The first Scared To Dance podcast is now available. At just under an hour it has plenty of new releases on it as well as favourite songs from the club.
Featuring songs from Pallers, Dum Dum Girls, Veronica Falls, Amanda Mair, The Radio Dept., McCarthy, Primal Scream, Sambassadeur, Club 8, Tom Tom Club, Jens Lekman, Acid House Kings, The Concretes, Talulah Gosh, Delta 5 and The Wave Pictures.
Saturday 8th October see’s the return of Scared To Dance at The Albany!
We’ve got Niklas Angergård, singer and guitarist in the Acid House Kings, coming all the way from Stockholm to DJ for us. Niklas is a brilliant DJ being a big fan of Sarah and Creation Records so you’re in for a treat.
We’ve been putting together our sets for the night which features lots of Swedish indiepop alongside Talulah Gosh, The Hidden Cameras, Ballboy, Comet Gain, The Clash, New Order. What would you like to hear? Feel free to post your requests on the Facebook event.
We’ll also be projecting Lasse Hallström’s classic My Life as a Dog.
