Unpop is an Edinburgh club night who play “C86, twee, jangle pop and generally heavenly pop hits” alongside indiepop classics. Unpop is our favourite club to go to and we had the pleasure to DJ at their night last year so we’re thrilled to welcome Adam Neil and Kieran Curran for this night.
They’ll be handing out free mixtapes and badges to the first 40 people through the door so be there at 9pm.
You can expect to hear the likes of Orange Juice, Hefner, The Smiths, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Belle and Sebastian and more! You can join the Facebook event and send in your song requests.
Our guest DJs at the end of the month Unpop have put together our podcast for March.
On the podcast you’ll find many of the bands they play at their night such as BMX Bandits, Cars Can Be Blue, Vivian Girls, Felt, of Montreal, Stephen Malkmus, The Concretes, Belle and Sebastian and Ballboy.
It also features the classic Pulp track “Pink Glove” as they’re playing at the Royal Albert Hall on the same night as Unpop are DJing for us on Saturday 31st March. If you’re going to the gig come down for a dance afterwards as we’ll be playing our favourite tracks by the band.
You can stream the podcast for free either from our site or over on Mixcloud.
