We’re having Pulp Special at Scared To Dance on Saturday 29th September. Pulp were one of those bands we grew up with and haven’t ever really gone away. This podcast is a selection of our favourite lyrics from Jarvis Cocker’s Mother, Brother, Lover book presented here in chronological order.

Do you remember the first time? We do too so we’re having a Pulp Special at Scared To Dance on Saturday 29th September!

We’ve recently been reading Jarvis Cocker’s Mother, Brother, Lover book so we thought we’d have a night especially dedicated to the band. We’ll be playing the bands hits, from “Common People”, “Babies” and “Disco 2000” as well as the bands best album tracks and rarities.

Help spread the word by inviting your friends to the Facebook event.

Our guest DJs at The Lion are the excellent Fever Dream! Sarah Lippett and Cat Loye from the band were big Pulp fans back in the day and they’re also one of my favourite noisy bands around at the moment.

We’ll also be playing our unique mix of indiepop, new wave, sixties pop, post-punk, punk, synthpop, C86, lo-fi and DIY music on the night plus the odd track from Jarvis’ solo albums.

If you’ve not been to the venue before, The Lion was formerly known as King’s Cross Social Club so that’s what you’re looking for. We’d love to hear your Pulp requests so send them in!
