They released one of our favourite albums of last year with Canines matching the brilliance of their previous LP. It’s always been a pleasure having them DJ, no less on three occasions. We’d love to hear your song requests which you can post on the Facebook event.
You can expect plenty of indiepop, post-punk and riot grrrl from them. In the past they’ve played the likes of The Go-Betweens, of Montreal, My Bloody Valentine, The Unicorns, New Order, Best Coast, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, The Breeders, Stereolab and Josef K. You can listen to their past DJ sets on Spotify for free before hitting the dancefloor!
Check out their new video for their fantastic final single “On the Spines of Old Cathedrals” and shuffle your feet and celebrate the genius of Shrag before they go.
The songs on the podcast are those that inspired the making of their new album Waiting For Something to Happen.
It’s a diverse mix including tracks from The Velvet Underground, Vic Godard, Big Star, Wreckless Eric, The Byrds, Television, Ramones, Brilliant Colors and The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.
It should give you a nice idea of the sort of thing the band will be DJing at the club next Saturday.
We’ve been in love with this band for a long time. They’ve just released their brilliant second album so we thought it would be perfect to have them back DJing at the club. You can currently stream the Waiting For Something to Happen in full on Pitchfork.
Patrick Doyle DJed for us a couple of years ago and returns this time with James Hoare from the band. You can now join the Facebook event for this night.
There will be free badges for those who come early and the visuals will be provided by the brilliant From Here to Eternity as it is projected as the backdrop to the dancefloor.
The deadline for membership card requests is 6pm on the day of the club. So if you want discounted entry you can apply in advance by emailing us.
