Scared To Dance is a twice monthly club night in London. We play indiepop, new wave, sixties pop, post-punk, punk, synthpop, C86, lo-fi and DIY music.

6 Music’s Gideon Coe DJs at our next night

BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe will be our guest DJ at our next club night at The Lion on Saturday 27th April. You can join the Facebook event and post your requests there!

We’ve had the pleasure of having Gideon DJ for us on two previous occasions playing the likes of Wire, Yo La Tengo, Talking Heads, Camera Obscura, Gang of Four, Belle and Sebastian, Spearmint, Half Man Half Biscuit and New Order.

You can listen to his two previous sets on Spotify from September 2011 and April 2012.

We’ll be projecting the Stanley Kubrick classic A Clockwork Orange as the backdrop to the dancefloor. If you haven’t been to The Lion before, it’s just a short five minute walk from King’s Cross station.

To get in for the members price of £4 all you need to do is email in with your name and we’ll make you a membership card! You can send in applications for your friends too. We’ve recently had a clear out so if you’ve applied for one in the past and you haven’t picked it up, you’ll need to apply again.

The Wave Pictures DJ at the club

We have The Wave Pictures DJing at our next club night on Saturday 30th March! It’s happening at The Lion in King’s Cross and David Tattersall from the band will be playing tracks for us.

For discounted £4 entry all you need to do is email us with your full name and we’ll make you a free membership card which you can use every time you come to the club!

David is one of our very favourite people to have DJing at the club as he always gets the dancefloor bouncing with a brilliant selection of ‘50s and ‘60s rock & roll.

This will be his fourth time spinning records for us and in the past his sets have included the likes of Chuck Berry, The Kingsmen, Bob Dylan, Little Richard, The Velvet Underground, Wilson Pickett, The Rolling Stones and Jerry Lee Lewis. You can check out their playlist on Spotify.

As always do at The Lion we’ll be projecting a film! This month we have Woody Allen’s classic Annie Hall and you can send in your song requests on the Facebook event.
