RED RIBBON GIG ON WED 19TH OCT

Scared To Dance presents Red Ribbon on Wednesday 19th October at The Victoria.

Support comes from Ailsa Tully and Hatty Taylor and tickets are on sale at DICE.

Red Ribbon is the project of Los Angeles-via-Seattle songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Emma Danner. Emma caught the ear of a wider audience with her debut album, Dark Party, back in 2018. Three years on she signed to Danger Collective Records and released her second album, Planet X.

Planet X explored the joys, tragedies and perils that come with being alive and searching for meaning in an at once beautiful and crumbling world with the help of doom metal producer Randall Dunn – known for collaborating with iconic bands such as Sunn O))), Earth, and more recently Marissa Nadler, Shame, and Pallbearer. Emma and her band are currently recording their third studio record in LA and will be performing stripped-back solo versions of songs from the new album alongside tracks from the previous two LPs.

Ailsa Tully has created an ethereal world rooted in folk, tinged with indie, and grounded by lo-fi field recordings. Ailsa’s vocals are tender yet determined, central to the haunting soundscape she has crafted. Her lyrics are unflinchingly honest, rousing and poetic as she explores themes such as her own mental health and her experiences as a woman. Ailsa released our most played EP of 2021 with the magnificent Holy Isle and recently returned with the excellent new singles “Mothering” and “Easy”.

Both a musician and painter, Hatty Taylor is a hot-off-the-presses new artist based out of London. Hatty has already been shortlisted to play at Truck Festival and performed at some of East London’s most iconic venues. Having recently been in the studio working on new music, Hatty will be bringing her full band to The Victoria to showcase why she’s an artist at the start of something special.
