Named after one of London’s most loved and at the time of its construction, most controversial, housing complexes, Barbican Estate are a Japanese trio formed in Tokyo and as of last year based in London. They released their self-titled EP in Spring 2022, a collection of psychedelia, no wave and experimental rock.

As influenced by art, cinema and ancient history as any particular genre the band set out to “embody an art that is not limited by the concept of music”. Intriguing and exciting in equal measure, they released their critically acclaimed EP The Fall late last year.

Formed in 2013, Sweetheart have been performing a distinctive mix of alternative rock, no wave and guitar pop for over a decade. Taking on subjects such as romance, anger, and the animal kingdom, they filter classic songwriting through an often loose and chaotic performance style. They self-released their first EP in 2014 and expect to release more music this year.
